Holy Hotness, this book is amazing! The second book picks up right where Secrets left off. Strong characters that we're coming to know and love, twists and turns that I never saw coming, friendships that are are strong and some that are just developing and the chemistry between Sterling and Araneae...off the charts!
Sterling is just as demanding as we remember, but Araneae is starting to whittle away at the domineering side of him, much to the amusement of the others in their circle.
We continue to get breadcrumbs into Araneae's past, not just from Sterling's perspective, but others as well. The pieces are starting to fall into place and just when we think we're going to get something big.....cliffy!

This series is definitely my new obsession, I cannot wait until we get the conclusion in Promises.

After getting a shock at the end of book one . We start right where we left off in book one . Araneae has had the shock of her life and now her life is in danger even more . The only man that can protect her is the man who really can't be trusted . Sterling Sparrow a man who is more of a mystery . There is secrets that people want from Araneae have her in danger and Sterling is trying to keep her safe but there are so many things that can put her in the line of danger . Will they be able to keep her safe and will their budding love keep them alive .
These characters just keep getting better and better . Sterling well I am really beginning to like him. He is still a little on the non trustworthy side but the more you read him . He becomes more and more likeable . He is such an alpha , strong and oh so sexy you will love to hate him . Araneae is really starting to become a force in his life . She is a fighter even though she really doesn't know what is going on sometimes . She is the perfect match for Sterling . We also get insight into Araneae's real mother and what happened when she was born . You really just want to hug both of them and tell them everything will be ok . We also get to meet the rest of Sterling's group of men . We find out a bit more of what is going on .
This book starts right where the first book left off. I sat down and read this book in an evening . I couldn't put it down , I got sucked in and loved every second of Sterling and Araneae. The author takes these characters and basically puts them through the wringer and then leaves us trying to fix them . She really takes us on a roller coaster ride. The best part of the book is watching the interaction between the two main characters . They are made for each other . I truly enjoyed this book , we get so much great story in this book. Even the backstory of what really happened to Araneae on the day of her birth. I will say when you start to read this book have a box of tissues an snuggly blanket and a glass of wine with you cause ladies you will need all three . I will warn you there is a cliff hanger at the end of this book . So check out this series and get them for your Christmas treat .
As always, Aleatha Romig does not disappoint! The second installment in the Web of Sin series is phenomenal. Throughout this novel we see the relationship develop between Sterling and Araneae as well as each of their characters developed further. The feisty, sassy, strong-willed Araneae is the perfect counterpart to dominant, alpha, un-bending Sterling. Sparks fly between these two and I loved it! While Sterling is the one that pulled Araneae out of the oblivion that was her own life, he is also keeping things from her. While he isn't lying to her, he isn't giving her the whole truth either. Will she truly be able to trust him and let this relationship flourish between the two of them, or will the lies and secrets be too much for her to bear. I cannot wait to see how this story unfolds in Promises! If you're into angsty, suspenseful, HOT, mysterious romance, then this is definitely one you'll want to pick up!
Lies continues where Secrets ends, as the story unfolds, at a steady pace, you'll be anticipating every scene because you'll never know what will happen next to Araneae and the people around her. Sure, Sterling is always there to keep an eye on her safety, but with Araneae's strong-willed attitude, she can be a handful sometimes. Still, Sterling was convinced that in Araneae he found a woman who can be his equal. Their intense and sometimes petty arguments with witty comeback will keep you entertained. Those sweet, romantic moments are a break to more twist and turn this book offers. So brace yourself for this is going to be a wild ride of emotions.

I also enjoyed the backstory of Araneae's mom. I'm curious to know what transpired after that fateful day in the hospital. My heart goes to her after that scene.

My mind is still in a spin after that cliffy ending. Aleatha Romig is so good at this, providing a skillfully constructed plot that you want more after the last page turned. I'm counting the days until Promises comes. I had a great time reading this series and I cannot recommend highly enough.
Aleatha has done it again! First of all, if you haven’t read Secrets (first book in this series) stop here and read it now! Lies is Book #2 in this trilogy and yes, of course they must be read in order! I am so in love with this series and Lies was even better than Secrets! I loved getting to know Sterling and Araneae a bit better, and as always there are plenty of twists and turns to keep you glued to this book from start to finish! I don’t want to give anything away so I will keep this short but this might end up being my favorite Aleatha series! Sterling Sparrow has really grown on me and I found myself wanting to spend more and more time with him. And of course there’s plenty of steaminess throughout the story - perfect for those cold winter nights!

So much intrigue, so much mystery surrounding this new couple...I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for the next and final installment and cannot wait to see how it all works out!
